We do our best to find homes for items that are in good and/or usable condition. We donate thousands of items to local charities each year. Some of these items go directly to people who need them, while others are sold by charities to raise money. Items that are in rougher shape are delivered to a local waste-to-energy plant and recovery center, where glass and metal are recycled. The remaining burnable items are used as fuel in the cogeneration plant to create electricity for local municipalities.
